The board is taking a much better turn with some interesting posts.
It has always been my firm opinion that cards will always be issued along with Electronic payment systems. The SMME card is the ideal card to work in tandem with an electronic wallet.

A couple of things. One of the articles suggested Samsung pay is not in Australia, well it is and I use it.
It's a pain though as I have to take the phone out of its case to tap the bottom of the phone on the EFTPOS machine. I tend to just use the cards.

Furthermore, my 5 yo recently dropped and smashed the wife's new Iphone6 whilst chasing Pokemon. Luckily, we don't rely on it to make payments........cards tend not to break so easily or run out of battery.
