Chapter 11 is for restructuring debt and repayments, etc... Chapter 7 has no plan to restructure. HIPP filed a Chapter 11, which you cannot dump shareholders under.

So, the bottom that HIPP got to (i think it was .004?) is the 'perceived value' of the stock going into Chapter 11 with the possibility of filing Chapter 7 (death of the company). Chapter 11 will impose a temporary trading freeze, yet private investors (on OTC) can still invest, since there is still value in the company.

Other contributors to the fall were all the other players in the space getting crushed during the same time. Remember Velti and Millennium media? They were $10+ stocks and went bust. I was in both of those for a bit, but sold out since they were just "me too" companies in a diluted space of many other players, but while FB and GOOG were growing massively in mobile. HIPP was the only one with an arsenal of patents and big in SMS (another differentiator) which was the main reasons i stuck with it and accumulated more on all big dips and again right before they froze trading.

Also, augmented reality will be massive. By 2020 (or sooner) you'll be able to use AR to literally watch NFL games, etc. as if you were right on the field. So, this could give a much higher forward looking value to patents of HIPP as well.

Ideally, HIPP (UPLD & ESW) will emerge out of this at a much higher share price, like BP has hoped for (as all of us do!). So, BP, you may be on to some good thinking that the shares could go for $16 or so, yet could go $25+ ($25 would be ~$450M MKT CAP) and not unreasonable in this space.

All of this is speculation, obviously, but that's all we have for now. UPLD is in total quiet mode and with bankruptcy wrapped up (we suspect), ideally we'll hear word soon, and ideally an M&A since it is the season for it this year with big tech buying smaller rev producing ones.

Here's more info on Chapter 11 filings & shareholders in OTCs:

good luck.
