I can confirm KAYS only hold MEDICAL licenses. No wonder your posts on this matter are INACCURATE. You keep quoting/posting the misleading and inaccurate information from news put out by KAYS. Maybe do some proper DD instead of relying on KAYS PRs which are rarely true.

They are waiting for their 2017 license.

Just like a drivers license, each KAYS store MEDICAL license has its own renewal date that coincides with its own issue date. Licenses, both Medical or Recreational are NOT issued for a calendar year. 2016 licenses DO NOT renew into 2017 licenses. And again KAYS DOES NOT HAVE ANY RECREATIONAL LICENSES FOR 2016 or 2017 TO PRODUCE INDOOR MARIJUANA WHILE MANY OTHERS IN THE STATE DO.[including for the remainder of 2016]

MEDICAL and RECREATIONAL licenses are approved and issued by different regulating authorities with different criteria and standards for approval. Just because KAYS holds MEDICAL licenses does not entitle KAYS a RECREATIONAL license. KAYS will have to meet much higher standards and scrutiny to be approved by the OLCC for Recreational licensing. The Oregon Health Authority[OHA} issues Medical and the Oregon Liquor Control Commision[OLCC] issues Recreational. There is no renewal for the ability to sell "LIMITED" REC. marijuana with KAYS MEDICAL license. KAYS will need to get NEW Recreational licenses from the OLCC by 2017 to either grow or sell Rec. MJ or they will be limited to Medical only.

As a matter of fact, the involvement of felony charged individuals such as repeat felony holder W. David Jones could easily disqualify KAYS from Recreational licensing at all. Maybe thats why we have heard nothing of REC. licensing for KAYS grow yet.

This has been covered here in detail over and again. Here we go yet again, Sheesh...

KAYS is a MEDICAL Marijuana company allowed to sell LIMITED recreational marijuana [as are most retail MEDICALLY LICENSED pot shops in Oregon] until they either file applications with the OLCC AND are APPROVED or until the end of 2016. At that time they will only be allowed to sell Medical marijuana until they can AND if they can get APPROVED for recreational licensing.

As important and telling is KAYS current inability to acquire a RECREATIONAL license for growing recreational marijuana as is evidenced by the list of licensed producers on the OLCC website where no mention of KAYS exists in the nearly 200 approved Recreational licenses granted to BOTH indoor and outdoor producers in the state already.

https://www.oregon.gov/olcc/marijuana/Documents/MarijuanaLicenses_approved.pdf

How do I know all of this you may wonder. Well I have an established relationship with the OLCC as OLCC licensing is required for the convenience stores that I own, and I simply asked my inspector.

All the information I have posted on the subject of licensing is easily confirmed by contacting the OLCC:
https://www.oregon.gov/olcc/marijuana/Pages/Contact-Us.aspx

Without an OLCC recreational license for their grow, KAYS ability to sell recreational marijuana that comes from the grow won't exist period.

The reason that producer licenses are being processed and approved first is that producers need to be licensed before the retail stores so that stores have a supply from RECREATIONALLY LICENSED GROWS to sell in their newly recreationally licensed facilities.

NO RECREATIONAL PRODUCER LICENSE = NO VERTICAL MARIJUANA BUSINESS come 2017.

NO RECREATIONAL LICENSING = NOT A RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA COMPANY
