They did not authorize additional buybacks but like soundguy said they still have $1.2B. They already have the sharecount down to 528M from the 708M they had in Dec 2013 when they merged.
They have bought back 180M shares and are now at a lower share count than DAL (747M) & LUV (620M) and yet those two, despite both issuing bad numbers and guidance in July AND both having computer crashes, are higher in PPS than AAL!!!! Talk about irrational, absurd, and just plain stupid!!!
