I was especially poisoned on biotechs when I skimmed an article about a slimy one a year or two ago. The "company" consisted of one doctor with dubious credentials and a record of failure doing unverifiable research on some quacky-sounding theory. He was drawing a 7-figure+ salary. But investors were lined up! That brand new stock had a market cap of something like $100 million! Those are the things that happen at sector peaks.

No doubt a very few will thrive and I guess I have a few cents invested in the field via mutual or index funds.

Looking at the two stocks you mentioned, both had the wild ups and downs that attract IHUB "player" types. Both are on NASDAQ's lowest tier (NASDAQ-CM) which investors should shun IMO. It's just a notch up from the OTCBB.
