Please do not listen to this guy, he mixes up info using different terminology than is standard, and quite a bit is under-defined, wrong or over simplified.

For one thing, many believe the FBI test requirements are extremely out dated, so that is that the be all of the facts. The real reason the FBI went back to the 9mm is many fold, it is:

Better price for ammo (more affordable).
Better bullet and powder has created a much better 9mm.
Most police are not that good a shot and need more bullets.
The 9mm is a smaller gun, easier to carry and the ammo weighs less.
More product available.
Smaller hands need smaller guns.
Less felt recoil.

FWIW, the only gun that had stress wear problems or cracks that I am aware of came from the 40S&W were Glocks.

I also disagree with this man on his entry ballistics not mattering. The bigger the entry wound, the more damage is done thus incapacitating the target quicker; just ask a hunter about this.

Yes, the newer 9mm is a much better bullet/cartridge/round, some getting close to the ballistics of the number one man stopper the 357 Magnum. However, the best bullet/cartridge/handgun combo for you is the one you can shoot best, as shot placement is number one.

The bigger bullet of the 45 ACP is still preferred by many, in fact more and more LE is going back to it all time, same for many military special forces departments.

The 40 is still here and still being used by many, it is a great round, but too much recoil for some, that and the bigger grip size of the $) S&W handgun is the real reason for many LE organizations. The really smart LE agencies are letting their officers carry either the 9mm, 40 S&W (some the 357 SIG) or the 45 ACP.

Another tidbit of info, the army was seriously considering of going to the 40 S&W in 2014, but Beretta made a heck of deal to upgrade all of their current guns and give them a great deal on smaller sale of new guns so they stayed with the 9mm.

Myself, I own a plethora of firearms and I have a good selection of differing ammo; my carry rig these days is the H&K USP in .357 SIG. My number one preferred gun and ammo combo is the revolver chambered in the still number one man stopper of record the .357 Magnum.

I am having some issues that is costing me time on the PC, but I will try and get some info posted on these many matters.
