ssk, looks like the Royals are at least giving a shot at my approach...that is not selling players this year, but trying to buy on the cheap or weird situations.
Rumours are they are trying to get Oakland's LH starter Rich Hill, and their outfielder, Josh Reddick. Now I'd take Hill for little (he's a FA next year), he's having a very nice year, but no sure thing at all. He's like 36, and in the six years prior to '16, he pitched a total of 75 innings in the majors. Still, since KC's SP can be 'easily' improved, I'd give him a shot if we're giving little. I'd definitely take Reddick...and obvious improvement over Dyson/Orlando, but I guess the A's would want too much...he's also a FA next year.
Also, they're talking about Markakis...I dont luv him. I dont even like him much. Certainly on the downslope, but an improvement over the Dyson/Orlando Combo. I think the trade basically would be to eat his 2017 and 2018 eleven million per year salary. If they have that kinda money to waste, I might prefer them to actually use it in FA to pick up a decent outfielder, 2b, or pitcher in a short term contract.
