Africa Oil & Gas picked up the story...

Including a new, but sadly, not far-fetched rumor of their own...

07/07/2016 - Kenya hit by latest exploration dud (Africa Oil and Gas) - 80 (aog v19-14 07july-text____0025)

Cepsa has become the latest company to be disappointed by drilling results in Kenya outside the successful South Lokichar Basin.

Rumours suggest that the Spanish company's Tarach wildcat in Block 11A has been unsuccessful. The 66m bbl well was in the far northwest of the country on the borders with both Sudan and Uganda and close to Ethiopia. The company declined to comment.

However, a series of other basin opening wells for Tullow have proven commercially unsuccessful in recent years as have a handful of wells drilled by other operators.

The Tarach well was spudded back in mid-April and a planned second well is believed to have been cancelled due to financial difficulties for partner ERHC.
