Interesting study...

The purpose of the present project was to review the literature on the effects of VLNC cigarettes on abstinence-induced disruptions in behavioral performance.

Conclusions: It appears that VLNC cigarettes may improve performance among abstinent smokers under certain conditions. However, that effect has been observed in only a single study. Comparisons between that single positive study and the six negative studies are made difficult by substantial between-study differences in key characteristics. This review identifies an important knowledge gap with regulatory implications regarding the ability of VLNC cigarettes to ameliorate the disruptive effects of smoking abstinence on behavioral performance in daily smokers.
