Generic drug companies generally have to reverse engineer a drug before creating the generic equivalent. It's my understanding that at least some details of manufacturing the brand name drug are left out. The FDA is satisfied with a generic drug if it proves bioequivalence. Sometimes this is done through generic drug trials (for which I was a Guinea pig back in the 1990s several times). Most generics I don't think even require trials.

The SwingTrade Portfolio was up 36.2% in 2014, 83.5% in 2013, and 546.6% since inception.
