evolving sales mix
What bugs me is no one ever mentions that the changing mix is more related to falling sales volume in the O & G portion which has the effect of increasing (C)CHP percentage of sales even if they are flat!
And then they take credit for shifting focus.
I call BS!
When O & G comes back (C)CHP will again have a reducing percentage of sales even if they stay flat. And then we'll probably hear how they were quick to respond and shift focus again to take advantage of the O & G rebound.
What we can bet on: the C-1000S was started well before the O & G plummet and was likely at the suggestion of distributors who would have mentioned the extra plumbing they had to do when a "Plug-n-Play" unit would reduce labor and materials costs. Probably something similar for the paint, vents, dual-filter arrangement, easier access to the filters, etc.
Just think, if they had no sales but (C)CHP, and even if only one unit, they could claim they had successfully shifted such that 100% of revenues were now from that sector and they had decided the O & G business wasn't worth the effort.
