Default The Duplicitous, Equivocating Political Left and their Media Lapdogs When is enough really enough?
When do we make a concerted effort to point out the obvious, glaring mendacity of the Democratic / Left-Wing / Progressive politicos and their predatory instinct to prey on the overt ignorance of the low/no information citizen?
I have a business partner. He's a multi-MBA, successful Los Angelino and one of my best friends in the world. He's semi-conservative with certain left leanings. Being immersed in the very epicenter of the liberal political sphincter, he doesn't own guns and he's always saying things about how "the government should pass a law..." whenever anything comes up. That said, I can reason with him, as I had to do today.
Mind you, this is a VERY smart, well-educated man in his early 60's who is very successful and a world-traveler. Well, he dropped a bomb on me today that exposed how pernicious the political left and their playbook really is. We've all heard Leftists like Hillary, Bernie Sanders, Bloomberg, De Leon, Feinstein, Obama and others say foolish things like "it's easier to buy an automatic weapon than a sandwich in America" and other blatantly erroneous statements about the dreaded "automatic assault weapons."
My partner says "I know you're a gun guy, but we really need to pass laws against automatic AK-47's in this country. You should at least have to pull the trigger once for each person you kill."
My jaw dropped. Surely MY close friend and business partner knows that this "automatic" weapon thing is nothing but smoke and mirrors!
No. He said "every politician and news channel is saying that the AR-15, AK-47 and other "assault weapons" are "fully automatic" and that anyone with $500 and a drivers license can walk in, buy one, and mow down hundreds of children with one pull of a trigger, and no one needs one of those."
So, I explained it to him in calm, rational, factual terms. He said he was "surprised" and really wonders how all of the politicians and reporters can say this when it's not true.
Let me just say this: If HE believes this, than so does the rest of the American general public.
There is NO WAY this is just "ignorant people" who are accidentally spouting errors because they don't know any better. This is a CALCULATED EQUIVOCATION to deceive, dupe, mislead, and sway the general public into siding with The Party of Deceit on this crucial issue.
It's intentional, and I've finally drawn my own personal line-in-the-sand. Whenever I hear someone, even overhearing total strangers in a conversation I have nothing to do with, talk about how "it's too easy to get automatic weapons in America" I'm going to pounce. I'm not allowing their ignorance, superstition, and fear cause yet more infringement of my rights.
Enough is enough. This far, and no farther.
