the nonsense continues....

My son told me this afternoon that I have to take him to his grandparents' house, because they rented it to some people through airbnb.

it's a 15 minute drive, not excessive, but I asked why they didn't just ask the neighbor, who I know well, to give the keys to these people. He said because he was in charge of their house while they were gone.

OK

So we got there are the prescribed time, 2:30 pm. We sat around twiddling our thumbs for 15 minutes and I told my son, I'm going to see the neighbor, I can hear them in their kitchen.

They were happy to see me, I pass by there often but don't always pass at the right moment to see them.

3:30 passes, still no people and my friend wants to watch the tour de france. OK, we'll leave you in peace, see you later.

My son is calling his grandmother, wondering what is going on.

4:30 passes

I tell my son, lets just give the key to the neighbor, leave a note on the door and go home.

So we go to the neighbor and are proposing this and of course that is the exact moment that the people arrive.

So we go to welcome them; or my son does, I'm just excess baggage that has nothing to do with the house.

I observed, my son did a great job welcoming them.

Then we left. As we were driving back, I asked my son, "is it just me or were those people weird?"

He said he didn't think so.

I asked if he had a good look at the guys shirt. No he really didn't pay attention. I told him he should have.

Anyway, long story longer.... These people are moving back to france and have no place to live at the moment and rented the house for 2 weeks while they check out houses.

Having spoken breifly with them, they have that project in mind, but not anytime soon.

And here comes the disaster, perhaps.... once in the house, because they have young children, it is against the law to kick them out of the house once it is rented, even if they don't pay for a period of about 6 months.

They shouldn't have rented to french people.

Who knows, maybe all will go well
