"This stock sank from a high of over 60 to 3 to 4 easily overwhelming AIM and is an example of why we should be weary AIMing individual stocks."

I would say that this is an example of why one should use a timer for an initial entry after their stock or ETF selection has been made.
From Nov. 2011 to Mar 1 2016, the MACD timer said no to an initial aim entry in TCK.
