The short version:

1.pathetic marketing:
-website: selling knives, first drop down box. Is that what we do? Sell knives? Can you understand from the the opening page what it is we do? Why does a company want us? One simple compelling benefit? It's more than awful.
-news releases: do your own research. Go find some news releases about sales successes. I think you will find one for this year from January.... that hasn't panned out.
-presence at trade shows: is there marketing literature? samples (free or paid) to take away? and one photo I saw somebody dressed like used car sales person and a trade show booth that looked like a H.S. science fair project
-errors on website with regard to officers, etc.
-newsletter? Lol.

2. no clear strategic direction communicated. If one were to go to the website to see what the mission of the company is, well, good luck. Look under "Solutions" then "What we sell", then find a clear benefit statement that will motivate me to spend the next hour trying to glean information on what this company does. Go under "News", "Investors", and try to download the "Investor Presentation" that supposed to have the strategic vision. How about an annual report? If we want investors to come in, should we at least have an annual report with the vision, mission, and outlook?

3. Okay, You didn't want me to mention Steipp, but the fact is, he is not a world-class CEO. He kept the company going until now, but now it's time for a visionary to take control with a clear strategic direction that is communicated throughout the organization and investors. Somebody that can give this dog and pony show a professional face.

Okay, that's a few quick notes as I am busy with my work. There is a lot more.
