ELKO – Jerritt Canyon President and CEO Greg Gibson spent a little time in the Elko County Jail Tuesday when he was booked on a warrant in connection to a speeding charge.

The warrant for failure to appear after bail for a misdemeanor was issued by the Beatty Justice Court.

According to the warrant information, the misdemeanor Gibson failed to show in court for was a speeding violation for driving 21 to 30 mph over the limit. It was a Nevada Highway Patrol case, according to the records.

Gibson, 54, of Massey, Ontario, has been the president and CEO of Jerritt Canyon Gold since the company bought the Elko County mine from Veris Gold in August.

His bail for the failure to appear warrant was $605.
