Internship, Corporate Development and Strategy

Job Description
For the purposes of the engagement, this intern will assist the Research and Corporate Development & Strategy teams with an assessment of potential novel (not currently approved/in development) indications for a set of assets. The scientific focus will be on identification of specific novel indications for development consideration based on thorough scientific literature review and extrapolation of relevant pathways and targets.

The intern will utilize a variety of research techniques and resources, including but not limited to PubMed, Citeline, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA), and various disease and research databases. In addition to research activities, the intern will perform data synthesis and interpretation, develop writing and communication skills by summarizing their recommendations, and have the opportunity to present their work at a departmental meeting at the conclusion of the internship period. This internship will provide exposure to biotechnology business and research objectives for scientists considering a career in industry.
Required Skills

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and intellectually curious, with an interest in biologic drug development. The intern should have a good grasp of immunology. The student will work largely independently, with access to experienced scientists and biotech professionals for collaborative brainstorming. Additional qualifications include:
Considerable biology, (bio)chemical engineering, and chemistry knowledge
Good written and computer skills; proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to learn quickly and think systematically
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with PubMed literature searches, Citeline pipeline analysis, and Integrated Pathway Analysis (IPA) is a plus

Required Experience
Completed a BS in cell/molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, or similar field, pursuing graduate degree
