Except for this I can't recall them really doing a bad job. Their intent is to set the course up to play to par and usually they get that right. Chambers Bay can be argued about but that certainly was a different kind of course.

And DJ had problems with the PGA when he got hit with a penalty a couple of years ago fro grounding his club in a hazard.

Their only screw up was the official there at the time. He should have had DJ call the penalty on himself at the time or consulted his playing partner and settled it right there.

I don't like the going to videotape especially when someone calls it in after the fact. The players are supposed to call penalties on themselves. If they don't the court of public opinion usually figures it out. Just ask VJ.

From what I gathered the course played the way it was designed and it is one of the few years there was not a lot of whining.

Having it end on Father's Day makes them all look human to the amateurs in us. JMO.
