The NRA is trying to overcome a supermajority of the will of the american people again and is completely making a continued fool of themselves. What is next from lapierre? A message from the gun manufacturer's lobby stating that all tourists should buy and carry more guns, especially in disneyland, as the loss of the toddler could have been prevented had the father had a 9mm in his Bermuda shorts so he could have shot the alligator? More guns is always their answer.

Large capacity drum magazines should be banned today. No reason for them to exist outside of the military. Not a reason for a clip on any gun to carry more than 7 bullets or so. Large clips are purely masturbatory for gun freaks and there really isn't a valid argument for them in civilian life. Re-instituting the assault-type weapon ban might at least slow the flow of them into civilian life-- even if it takes a generation for there to be any effect, it would be better than allowing every swinging dick enough firepower to kill scores of people without even being bothered to pause and reload.
