Nicotine/CBD gum: Silly, but probably unique enough for branding

If the CBD will help moderate mood while cutting down the nicotine, then I guess it's worth a try. They're probably going after the smokeless tobacco cessation market because vaping nicotine is likely killing the nicotine gum market when it comes to smokers, while the smokeless products are chewed.

Then again, why not vape and chew Orbit gum?

CVSI's nicotine/CBD gum idea reminds me of a time a few years ago when my younger brother, who worked as a pharma rep, told me that his company was combining two drugs into one pill and working with the FDA to get the combo to be considered a new drug so that they could get X (I forget how many) years of brand protection from generics.

I don't recall if they were successful, though.

I suppose that the combination of CBD and nicotine would make this product unique enough that it could be given the same protection against generics.

I don't think I would hold my breath on this, especially with dilution from notes coming.

Finally, it's interesting that they're planning to use synthetic CBD.
