I enjoy watching college basketball, Gary, but have not watched an NBA game in over a decade. It used to be fun to watch back in the 1950s. I would go to the Hershey Park arena and watch a double header. The preliminary game would be an NBA game; usually the Philadelphia Warriors against another team. I saw George Mikan play there, and Paul Arazin. Neal Johnston was the center for Phila. The second game which was the feature game was always the Harlem Globetrotters, and what a show they would put on, sometimes against the College All Stars, and sometimes against a victim team like the Washington something or others. Once while riding home on the bus from Hershey to Harrisburg, I looked to the back of the bus and there were the Philadelphia Warriors. I got their autographs, and still have them somewhere. I could probably pay the salaries that the Warriors made back then out of my savings now. It was fairly common for a big star to make a whole lot less than 50 grand, and most players made 10-20K. Oh, one othe thing. I was in the Hershey arena watching another double header when Wilt Chamberlin scored 100 points. Nearly all layups. Unusual as it was, he could hardly miss from the foul line that night. Now, Wilt made some real money.
