Glad they changed it, but it looks like all that happened was IAIR changed their award description for the company from the year 2014 award to the 2016 award, and NNVC updated the web site accordingly. Unfortunately, the new description now on the updated web site doesn't seem to fit NNVC either: "... representing the next great advance in 'immunotherapeutics' ..."

Immunotherapy is more concerned with re-activating the body's own immune system to attack disease (a.k.a. immune check-point inhibitors against cancer, therapeutic vaccines that train the body to attack cancer or pathogens - like Inovio, or modified T-cell therapy like CAR-T or TIL or ..., but not cellular mimicking virus killers like nanoviricides, in my limited understanding of the term.

'Cides don't interact with the immune system at all. They simply mimic cells with specific receptors, bind the viruses, then destroy them.
