We held a workshop two weeks ago on AM and it occurred to me that these stents could easily be printed. One of the projects was printing hearing aid shells, about a dozen per bed - all unique - mass customization style. Perhaps the stints could be done in this same way.
AM is another wide open area where we should be doing more, not only for medical, but aviation and automotive. The properties of BMG combined with unique seamless geometries that can be achieved only through AM would be of high interest. One such example that I saw at a R&D lab was a baffled exhaust port. I digress. For me, AM should be a new division that Prof. Li launches. We have the bucks, and there are lots of huge opportunities. It's easy to get connected through America Makes. Let's go.
