It's hard to focus on too much cash being a problem regardless of where it is. Oversea's is fine. Everything's built in China anyway,. I do see it as somewhat of a waste to have that much money laying around though. At some point the quest for more may lose some meaning. Unless they find something to do with it.

And there is pressure to stay on top. You can't just sit on your hands. Apple is going to have to take some risks at some point. With the future of Hydrogen assured the question is, how can you not want to be a part of it? It's like the beginning of software systems, MS Dos vs Mac OS. There may be a few generations of applications that need to be tried. They have the resources to jump in, make mistakes and keep on going. They also have the power to defend the tech. from illegal patent infringement.

Tim Cook is running a huge monster of a Company and has to be careful to some extent. Straying outside the familiar when things are going fine could reflect badly on him if it doesn't work out. But something like this has protection from criticism since it literally is the future. I don't think he's worried about Elon Musk making fun of him. He has his own problems. Like how to build 500,000 cars when you're top production people are walking out on you.

So my feeling is the Tims need to get together. Cook and Young. And have a chat. We've got Don, Bernie and Hillary running around trying to be in charge and their tool boxes may not meet the challenges we face. The Tims can bring the people and equipment together to make elegant changes and put us in harmony with El Eartho. So the winners of the rigged elections can go back to screwing with us and each other which will never end.

Because it all begins and ends with the little leaf.
