It doesnt take business experience to point out the obvious.

The only real experience needed is being a parent. I know when i am being lied to.

But to answer your question i have over 30 years experience in prototyping an manufacturing.
I have produced and designed many things from movie props to armored personal carrier designed to withstand IEDs in war.

I would estimate 80% of the work i have done was invention design and consulting.
I have worked for everyone from backyard inventors to BAE systems and Lam Research.

I have helped 4 different start up companies from concept to sales. Not including 3 businesses of my own. 1 failed 2 succeeded and sold with a 4th in the works. Although the 4th is appearing to be just a product licensing in the future. (I dont want to make the item)

Working with so many various business people one thing that works pretty well is my BS detector.

As i said you need no experience at all to see the obvious here.
If scott had any intent he would have showed it.
Instead of spending shareholders money on the investment he spent it on traveling and wine.

He has made every step wrong.
After nearly a decade at the helm i do believe we are further away than we were in 2009.

Scotts "failure" cant be missed.
And failure is in quotes because Scott is actually a resounding success.
If you consider that for almost 10 years he has lived a relaxed life doing nothing and answering to nobody.

THAT was Scotts intent and he succeeded greatly.
He only failed the shareholders
