Absolutely right. Market manipulation of a stock is illegal and certainly trackable by the SEC. While it does seem somewhat counter intuitive that someone would short a penny stock, it is unfortunately done on a regular basis by people that collude to drive down prices. Having said that, this particular stock is a short seller's nightmare. The high volatility would naturally make it one of the more dangerous plays out there, IMO.
