I remember a horse handicapper back in the 70's had a pool of players that put up a thousand each to start with. They would bet 25% of the entire bankroll on every horse that went off at 1/5 odds. The winning % of 1/5 horses was better than 80% so it paid off like a dividend year in and year out and their fund steadily grew through the years.
