SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/16/16 -- ImageWare Systems, Inc. (ImageWare or IWS) (OTCQB: IWSY), a leader in mobile and cloud-based, multi-modal biometric identity management solutions, has appointed Dana Kammersgard to its board of directors effective 05/13/2016. His appointment expands the board to 8 members, with 7 serving independently.
Kammersgard currently serves as the executive vice president at Seagate Technology, a global leader in data storage solutions, where he is responsible for all storage system-related products and strategies. He previously served in a number of senior management positions at Dot Hill System Corp, a subsidiary of Seagate Technology and a manufacturer of data storage systems, lastly as the company's President, CEO and Director. At Dot Hill, Kammersgard helped lead the company from a small private organization to become a leading data storage company with over 300 employees, and eventually playing a significant role in the sale of the company to Seagate for $694 million in October 2015.
Prior to Dot Hill System, Kammersgard co-founded Artecon, where he held various leadership positions and was director at the time of the company's eventual merger with Box Hill Systems Corp. to form Dot Hill Systems in 1999. He received a B.A. degree in chemistry from the University of California, San Diego.
