The informal quote I received was for $695 for the top of the line ballistic (SWAT) plate and $525 for the thinner, everyday wear trauma plate .

Their pricing is significantly higher than the competition, but the level of protection ( Level IV vs Level 3 protection) and the fact that the Bourque plates indicate the ability to withstand multiple hits makes the decision simple.

After watching the San Bernardino and Paris incidents last year, and reading the after reports of both, it's apparent no combatant uses single shot weapons....all of them are automatic or semi-automatic weapon equipped.

Why are the majority of law enforcement and military procurement contracts for outdated, inferior ceramic or poly plates?

Answer...because up til now there wasn't an option, and because they're cheaper....about $200-300 on average.

I'm not comfortable waiting for the budget people to figure out that a 32 year olds life is worth more than the $300 difference, simply because they're not up to date on what's available .
