Be extremely careful giving out your real name and contact info.

Often, at the end of scams, crooks collect names claiming they're going to bring a class action suit, or such. In reality they're just building a prospect list for the next scam. Names of fraud victims are very valuable.

Very much like those Nigerian scams where there's supposedly some UN/FBI fund to compensate people who suffered in previous scams. They know the best prospects for a stock scam are those who lost before.

I remember one where victims were contacted by a "lawyer" in Austria who supposedly had an avenue for retrieving lost money. One guy sent him some fees, and never heard from him again.

One victim of the lawyer scam was even contacted later by a THIRD scam. I don't think he bit. But a young investor in that stock lost everything he'd saved for his wedding.
