F6, apparently it was 5pm Tuesday, so not sure why they said

Melbourne sweltered through its hottest March night on record on Tuesday, hovering around 30C after reaching a peak of 38.6C in the city at 5pm.

The temperature dropped to an overnight minimum of 27.7C at 8.45am Wednesday, just before the 6am cut-off for overnight temperatures.

It broke a previous record for the warmest overnight minimum of 26.5C, which was set on March 13, 2013.

However the daytime maximum of 38.9C fell short of the March record of 41.5C, set in 1940.

.. and hmm, that overnight minimum sentence has me a bit bamboozled just now, too, basically the "8.45am", then ... "just before the 6am cut-off for overnight temperatures" .. and sunrise Wednesday Mar 9 was 7:13am (from link above) .. it almost looks like they got the sentences mixed up with the 5pm high time being just before a 6pm cut-off .. maybe overnight means 6pm to 6am for temperature readings (couldn't find the answer to that) .. anyway, that 8.45am before 6am sill has me going in coycals, howdy doody .. sorry, too tired to figure it out .. whatever it looks like overnight may not mean sunrise to sunset to some .. i must have everyone confused by now, so enough.

Sorry for so long to reply and that above wasn't fun, lol, must be in delayed heatstroke mode and missing something easy .. again .. shiteeeeee!
