MIAMI (AP) _ Opko Health Inc. (OPK) on Monday reported a loss of $12 million in its first quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Miami-based company said it had a loss of 2 cents.

The holding company with investments in pharmaceutical and diagnostics companies posted revenue of $291 million in the period.

OPKO Health shares have climbed 2 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $10.26, a drop of 27 percent in the last 12 months.
