They will profit on both sides ie when news is announced by capitalizing on the HYPE, selling to new buyers into the stock as the PPS rises and then shorting it back down when the buzz fades, to a base price that they are comfortable with. They profit either way this goes. Did you actually believe they would possess the ability to short WMIH and not attempt to profit by it? People need to sit up and really examine the entities we're coupled with in this deal.
