Number of people who think that the Yuan is not backed by gold: everyone else! Including the Chinese government, and all of the central bankers in China. Oh, and everyone in the foreign currency exchange markets.

If you make investment decisions based on "theories" that have no basis in fact, then... Well, you end up putting your money in "mining companies" that exist only on paper, all the while hoping that the Chinese government or the ENSSFM will bail you out.
