The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is accepting official comments from the public through May 31, 2016.

Why are they accepting comments until May 31, 2016, if they are to make a decision on Probuphine by May 27th?

Given that reality, abuse deterrent formulations shouldn't be penalized with the same numerical cap applicable to pill formulations that can be diverted.

Probuphine, if approved, would be in a class by itself....

The FDA can't find another abuse-deterrant medication with a lower success rate of being abused....

And they know it.

But it's alright to approve "abuse-deterrant" forms of opioid pain meds, which have a higher probability of being abused....

Despite their preventative measures of technologies.

At any rate, we have less than a month.
