Army Testing CytoSorbents Cytokine Filters for Biodefense

USAMRIID U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious DiseasesThe U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) Bacteriology Division is in the process of purchasing custom cytokine filters from CytoSorbents, Inc. for use in a funded project to develop new biodefense countermeasures.

The CytoSorb filters are required to test the effect the filters have as a treatment against SEB toxin exposure, anthrax and plague in non-human primate models.

The filters will be developed to match USAMRIID’s animal model and bacterial targets.
