BK is losing trust and confidence rapidly. Unless he is able to share some positive news with specifics (rather than the broad note on Intel transformation that he did earlier this week), the calls for his head to roll will become louder. When that happens, it will become increasingly difficult for him to be an effective CEO.

Actually, he has done a phenomenal job of convincing the "masses" (i.e. not people like you or me who follow this story closely & have money on the line) that his "strategic transformation" of Intel is super great and awesome.

The reality is that ever since BK took the helm, just about everything he's touched has turned to dust. SoFIA? His "brilliant" plan to go after mobile? Failure.

The bragging about Intel's "Moore's Law leadership" back in 2013 & constant disparaging of the foundry competition? Yeah, how's that one working out?

And of course we're now seeing leaked memos from the new guy from Qualcomm that Intel's bread & butter PC product lines are suffering from "competitive gaps"

From where I'm standing, there is certainly cause for concern. And, given the development timelines of chips, manufacturing technologies, etc., it may be a matter of years before the company will be able to really course correct to where it wants to/needs to be.
