Actually, this may apply to Sucanon. There are 3 diabetes drugs in the insulin sensitizer class - Avandia, Actos and Sucanon. The first two cause high rates of heart attacks and strokes and are similar to each other, so this leaves only Sucanon. Metformin and others can be hard on kidneys, so if your kidneys are weak Metformin is not a good choice, Sucanon may be the only good option.
