Mandatory buybacks, CDNL has to buy back shares with a portion of each tranche of Chinese funding... it is one of the requirements of the SPA. Thats an important distinction. Each time the Chinese fund one of the tranches CDNL has to use a set percentage of the funds to buy back more shares

A key provision of the SPA is the buyback of CDNL’s stock with a portion of the proceeds... However, the overall terms remain the same. The use of the proceeds still focuses on the same categories on a prorated basis as each payment comes in
