always tried to make sure there were characters of different diversities in there,” he recalled. Black Panther was, at the time, a character he very much wanted to explore. “People going to a movie or reading a book should always find someone in that movie or book they can identify with.”

He’s still working on that – Lee was proud to say, with his film company POW Entertainment, he’s working on films with Asian and Latino leading characters.
