Bulldzr- they're enchanted by him, hoping that he will bring about decades of forward progress overnight. They are just so myopic and can't see that Bernie won't be able to deliver the things he's promising (not with the Republican congress he won't). And when he doesn't deliver (humoring the hypothetical scenario of him getting elected president), they will quickly fall out of love and will turn against him.
'Supposedly' I'm part of this generation as well as I will turn 32 in August. I don't hate Bernie, I really don't, but I think he is promising too much in a short amount of time. Progress in this country happens slowly and I think Hillary will be far more effective than Bernie bringing about that progress.
Technically I am a millennial, but I just refuse to be associated with the generation which brought YOLO to mainstream usage.
