Subject: Rolling Thunder Remembered ... A day by day daily blog of events 50 years ago...

Gentlemen:

I am cranking up an ambitious commercial free website, Rolling Thunder Remembered, and will be posting a daily blog that recalls what was happening at Yankee Station and the Rolling Thunder battle space coincident with New York Times news from that same day in Washington and the "home front.". The draft prose for the header page of the website is attached. I start grinding on it tomorrow to match up with March 1, 1966 and hope to keep at it right through the last three years of Rolling Thunder. The project will cover the period of March 1966 through the date of LBJs announcement that he wasn't running for reelection, March 19, 1968. I will be reviewing one day at a time looking back 50 years. As this initiative progresses, the blog will present opportunities for readers to contribute stories that happened on specific days during the period of review..

I will archive everything that I write and receive for eventual inclusion in the blossoming and magnificent Texas Tech Vietnam Research Center and Archives in Lubbock, Texas.

This project is the last item on my personal "bucket list" and I intend to go at it until I drop, at which time my wife will end the blog with the following announcement: "Bear's blogging days are over, he nailed his bucket with a flight boot yesterday..."..I am confident I have the gas to complete this review and inclusive journal of the three years of memories of our "fifteen minutes of fame" from fifty years ago.

Addressees who would like to receive a daily dose of Rolling Thunder Remembered are invited to send me their email address at ...beartaylor@comcast.net... OR... just add this website address to your "Favorites" line. I expect to be in free flow and on the net by March 15. An introductory dummy page is now on line at the website........

... please feel free to spread the word...The 50th Anniversary of Rolling Thunder will be remembered...

You are invited to join me in remembering Rolling Thunder and all the great guys who laid it on the line for their country for years in a war fought following a "Strategy for Defeat." (Admiral U.S. Grant Sharp, CINCPAC, 1960s). If we don't remember, who will?

Warm regards to all, Bear Taylor, Ogden, Utah

“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the cat.

“We’re all mad here.”
