The clinical efficacy of the active ingredient was NOT zero, it;s efficacy was clinically substantial at 90 days,but it was NOT STAT. significantly superior to the the placebo group at 90 days.
A DELAYED biological mechanism of clinical efficacy onset(Yamanaka 2012) may be implicated in the paradoxical stat.sig increased efficacy(p=0.01) at 365 days, on several measures of theoretical and clinically significant outcome.
This DELAYED onset mechanism requires replication,but is not inconsistent with biological theory.
