Is the following possible:

AMRN agreed (months ago) to run RI to completion. DMC analyzes interim results. If these results warrant a recommendation of stoppage, they make such recommendation without showing data to AMRN, FDA approves ANCHOR based on DMC's recommendation.

What's the point of this? If AMRN decide to finish RI, regardless of DMC's recommendation, so they get something out of it right away instead of waiting extra 22 months.
