Obama can try to find a consensus candidate -- but the Teaflublicans have been proudly trying to destroy any chance of consensus for years as well
bottom line: this is a critical seat -- we must win the White House AND take back the Senate -- the Teaflublicans will still be able to filibuster unless we then go full nuclear on the nuclear option -- which if they win the White House and hold the Senate they'll very likely do to be able to force another Scalia or worse onto the Court -- so that if we win the White House and take back the Senate we'd probably be well-advised to do the same to force a true liberal onto the Court
