I have no idea. I do know that ON2Technologies was developing VP9 a few years back (I was a shareholder in ONT). I would just be speculating here. I found it interesting that MAXD's clip stated a proprietary algorithm (possibly for upscaling) and they stated that the clip was being viewed via VP9.

If MAXD and TMMI did, in fact, have an arrangement, wouldn't TMMI be able to play the clip on its own tech.?

Like everything else with TMMI, questions abound.

I don't want to get into hypothetical guesses.
