Newer ihub rules prohibit new seated mods from removing any info from the box unless it was theirs. I'm confident that was your intent, but you won't be allowed to do so. Asking admin won't change it. I have no input whether you mod or not, nor do I care.
I moderate a board by pure Ihub Tos, it's not the mods job to check on the veracity of members posts, nor 'control' the sentiment of the board. To do so will make a mod tenure very short.
