Kiwi - Risk may have reduced with reduction of LDL, as reported in your quote, but "with" doesn't mean "caused by."

Correlation does not imply causation, as has been known at least since Aristotle. The point made to you very recently is that it was likely something else about statins (inflammation reduction) that provided the benefit, since other LDL reduction methods didn't lower risk. Nothing in your quote disproves that, or is even slightly inconsistent with it.
