Ah yes, that deep deep CONspiracy! The uninteresting truth is…

I chose the subject. I chose it first because it involved a Canadian company, and Stockwatch, a Canadian publication, focuses on Canadian themes. My second reason was that John Woods, Stockwatch's owner and editor, likes "black box" stories. The black box in this case was the mysterious catalyst.

I'm afraid no Evil Shorts, Unscrupulous Market Makers, or mythical Ex-DTCC Agents were involved in my decisions, or in anything I wrote.

Disappointing, I know. But hey! Almost six years later, I stand by every word in that piece. Turned out to be quite prescient.
