They haven't yet developed anything of the kind, if it is based on their Dengue and Chikungunya vaccines, vaccines unable to exit clinical testing. Most optimistically, their Zika vaccine is still a year to 2 years out once they finish preclinical work.


I am in general agreement here - it's still not going to be widely available and/or safe & effective for some time now.

Good PR for them,... not much else to hang their hat on yet though.

There are at least two other small companies of which I am aware who are similarly 'working on' vaccines who claim they 'might' have an experimental version for emergency use by end of 2016. A couple other of the big vaccine makers also are working on it, and probably won't have anything they are willing to test before 2017.

There's going to be a lot of competition on this front this year. Don't think anybody (unless they just get very lucky) is going to have a safe & effective vaccine in time to deploy it during 2016.
